Lib Dems Admit Breaking Promises

I notice that the Liberal Democrats' own figures show that they have raised the amount spent on Council publicity by 8% during their administration. That is a long way from the Tax Payers Alliance figure, but also very different from their repeated promises to reduce publicity spend. The question facing Paul Lorber, as we come up to the vote next year, is if he has broken so many of his pledges in the past, why should we trust him now?

When I think of the stupidity of trusting the Libs, with power to lead a succesful council. Paul Lorber, although a councillor for some years now has hardly been a Leader to be proud of. Brent inhabitants have been put through the ringer of broken promises, econnomies with the truth and a level of devastation to our communities that intollerable to a civilised society. He has passed the buck on important decisions and failed to create an atmoshere of respect and trust. Brent coucil is at an all time low in peoples opinion. I, as a council tax payer resent the abuse of our resources and the spiraling cost of Brent litigation against ordinary residents, the most draconian and abusive regime we have ever had. I request Councillor Powney to invesigate the cost of all these court cases and the amount Brent spends on litigation, and then tell us on your blog what WE are paying to punish Brent residents. I believe Councillor that you can access this information and let us know just how much the Liberals are spending to abuse us. I look forward to your blog on that one. If you do not get supplied with the information , you should question why they will not tell you. I have lived in Brent for 50 years, and this year I am throwing in the towel and moving out of Brent as I no longer have the stomach for the disgracefull shambles that the Liberals have created. When I look around and see our communities broken and not taken care of, our services restricted and anything of any joy closed down, like the fiasco with copeland and Roundwood park, the council has shown itself to be disloyal, un trustworthy and litigeous . While all around us our heritage in the form of our buildings are being sold off to faceless developers and housing associations. What will we have left when we get rid of them. I am sad to leave the Brent I have loved all my life, but I no longer can bear to live under the disgraceful Liberal regime. So house up for sale in this awful market and mentally ready to go. Concillor, a very important question was asked above, how much is all this court action costing. How much council tax money is being paid to take ordinary Brent residents to court to impose this awful liberal regime. I would have expected you to be on top of that question, I am
sure it will make very interesting reading and of course it will demonstrate without frills the extent of the liberals true hidden scandal.
I look forward to your inner politician reporting on this tradgedy for Brent
