The new dry recycable bins have started rolling out. For instance, they have now been distributed to Wrottesley Road. As well as the materials you could put in your green box, you will be able to add tetrapaks, mixed plastics and cardboard. However, please note the actual collections start from 3 October.

What do we do with the green boxes that we have?
From reading recent literature on the issue it seems it will not be possible to recycle single use plastic carrier bags. Is that really true? That seems like a massive oversight in the contract. Thankfully most supermarkets offer this service, but it's a shame that people can't recycle their carrier bags from their 'blue lid' bins.
I'm all for this! In my opinion, recycling should be strictly enforced. Would only take a few years to create a better understanding from people and if they need harsh treatment to get there, so be it. Cannot understand people not taking a few minutes out of their day to separate a few items
I was told in answer to a question at the Kingsbury and Kenton Area Forum that green boxes would be collected and recycled. Others have argued they should be retained as planters for flowers or vegetables. Kids used them as sledges on Barn Hill in the snow last winter...
